Market Manager

Job Description
Sunflower Farm Market is seeking a highly organized and leadership-focused Farm Market Manager to join our team. The Market Manager will have a strong commitment to growing a healthy local food economy, and promoting our agricultural focused events program. The Market Manager will need to be able to work independently, take initiative, problem solve, and embody exceptional interpersonal skills with customers and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Project Collaboration: Work closely with owners to manage business operations, develop sales goals and budgets, and communicate financial updates.
  • Healthy Partnerships: Manage relationships with farmers, artisans, and producers, ensuring strong partnerships and inventory upkeep.
  • Staff & Team Development: Train, schedule, and manage staff, fostering a positive, mission-driven culture.
  • Daily Operations: Use tools like Gmail, QuickBooks, and Retail Edge to maintain records and manage inventory, store organization, and cleanliness.
  • Marketing & Communication: Manage online presence, create social media posts, and seek publicity to build a regional presence.

Skills / Qualifications

  • Desire to manage a mission-driven business
  • Retail and product management experience preferred
  • Knowledge of organic growing practices is a plus
  • ServSafe certification is beneficial
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and adapt to new technologies

Position Details

  • Part-time: 15-20 hours/week
  • Pay based on experience

Locavore

Job Description

We’re seeking an enthusiastic and organized Locavore to join our team at Sunflower Farm Market. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about supporting a vibrant local food community. Locavores work independently, take initiative, solve problems efficiently, and provide outstanding service to both customers and fellow team members.

Responsibilities

  • Customer Service: Greet customers and CSA members, answer questions, and assist as needed.
  • Checkout Operations: Operate cash registers and POS system, handle payments, and issue receipts.
  • Stocking & Merchandising: Stock shelves, organize products, rotate stock, and maintain visually appealing displays.
  • Store Maintenance: Keep the store clean and orderly, including dusting and floor care.
  • Product Knowledge: Stay informed about products, provide recommendations, and share information with customers.
  • Safety & Compliance: Follow store safety protocols, report hazards, and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Inventory Management: Assist with deliveries, restocking, and organizing stockroom areas.

Skills / Qualifications

  • Desire to work in a mission-driven business
  • Retail experience preferred
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Knowledge of POS systems and cash handling procedures a plus
  • Flexibility to work scheduled and additional hours
  • Ability to adapt to new technologies and systems

Position Details
